ARCHIVED NEWS:
May 14 2008:
Longtime Tulsa KJ Rick Berry was nice
enough to drop us a note, with the following updates
to his schedule:
Rick's now doing Santino's Italian Restaurant
on Thursdays - Santino's has invested in their
own karaoke rig (way to go Santino's!) and Rick is helping them out.
He also picked up The Sports Fan Attic
in the Farm Shopping Center a few weeks ago, and
says it's a very nice place. He KJs there on Thursdays.
And, starting June 1st, Rick will be at Fishbonz
on Sundays.
Rick is a great KJ and we have a lot of fun at his shows - check them out
if you get a chance!
Magoo has picked up the Million
Dollar Elm Casino in Sand Springs on Thursday nights.
He also does the Million Dollar Elm on Tisdale on Tuesdays, and the Elm in
Hominy on every
other Sunday.
We've discovered a new karaoke venue - Scotty's
Bar and Grille at 3119 W 61st on Monday
and Wednesday nights from 7-11pm. We haven't paid them a visit yet, but
they get high
marks from our friends.
Redneck Kountry has moved their
Karaoke Night to Wednesdays, and Fred Anderson
has
taken over KJ duties there.
April 29 2008:
It's almost that time again - time for the annual TalentQuest
National Karaoke Contest!
Stay tuned here for all the info you'll need to qualify locally for
the big annual competition in
Laughlin Nevada. We'll have a special section of the site dedicated to the
venues holding
the local competitions as well as full coverage of the regional
qualifiers.
Kenosha Station has
expanded their karaoke offerings to both Wednesday and Friday nights.
New listings were added for Dixie
Tavern on Wednesday nights, and Bobbisox
now has
karaoke on Sunday nights starting at 7pm, for the early crowd.
The SoCo's
/ Rock'n The Kasbaw KARAOKE CONTEST is still going strong -
for
info and rules.
Is there any interest for listings for vocal
coaches/teachers? If you think this would be of
benefit to you, please LET
US KNOW.
We're always looking for reviews - if you visited a
karaoke venue recently that you either
LOVED or HATED, I'm sure our readers would love to hear about it. Send us
a quick review HERE.
March 20 2008:

NEW CONTEST! Rock'n
The Kasbaw Karaoke and SoCo's Sports Bar & Grille bring you
their first annual KARAOKE CONTEST! CLICK
HERE for complete info and rules.
We've also updated the Karaoke
Calendar with a few new dates.
January 26 2008:
Kenosha Station in Broken Arrow has karaoke again on Friday nights.
NEW CONTEST! The Mayfest
Karaoke Contest is being held every Sunday night from Feb 17
through March 16th at the Roadside Pub in
Tulsa. Contest runs from 7pm to 9pm.
We just updated the Karaoke Calendar again with the
latest - we now have nearly 100 karaoke
nights listed in and around the Tulsa area! TAKE A
LOOK!
If you know of a Karaoke show that we don't have listed
- please visit our MESSAGE
BOARD and
let us know. We'll add it to our list, along with your review.
Speaking of which - SUPER thanks to Yolinda, who gave us
updates on several Karaoke nights
that we weren't aware of. THANKS SO MUCH!
Several new reviews posted - there was a pretty
concerted effort by the kids at the Roadside
Pub to bombard us with positive reviews this past Friday night, so we
thought we'd better give
it another shot. We hopped in the car and headed over! Read our updated
review on the
REVIEWS PAGE.
Speaking of reviews, we've been asked how we review
karaoke nights - do we let the KJ know
we're reviewing beforehand? No, we don't. We show up, just like anybody
else, usually bringing
a small group of singer friends, and try our darndest to have a good time.
We put our heads
together afterwards and come up with our review. Usually we let the KJ
know who we are as
we're leaving for the night. We try to be as unbiased as possible, but if
your review doesn't
agree with ours - feel free to post your own review on OUR
MESSAGE BOARD. It's FREE and fun!
December 14 2007:

Saturday night for ten-weeks. You must be 21 years old to enter this
establishment. Regular
Karaoke will commence @ 9:00 pm and the competition will begin @ 10:00 pm.
We will only accept
the first 10 contestants that sign in each night. Each nightly winner will
receive $50 cash and a
chance to compete in the finals February 23, 2008 for a chance to win $300
cash! We will be
waiting at the pole! Bring it!"
The KT.com staff loves the RockN M Club & RockN The
Kasbaw Karaoke - should be a good time!
On the schedule page, we've added listings for Trade
Winds East (hosted by Sweeney) and
Rooster & Rose Sports Pub (hosted by Jim Simpson). We haven't visited
Rooster & Rose yet, but
it gets rave reviews from our friends who visit regularly. Many other
karaoke nights have been
posted as well - check em out on our Karaoke
Calendar page!
The KT.com staff just returned from a trip to Las Vegas,
where we sang at our very favorite
Karaoke club in the world - the Piano Bar at Harrah's on the strip. TJ is
a great karaoke host -
very entertaining, and he keeps the show moving quickly along. Sound is
great, and the later the
evening gets, the more appreciative and supportive the crowd is. We HIGHLY
recommend a visit
the next time you're in Las Vegas - this is MUCH better than the Karaoke
club at the Imperial
Palace next door! The Piano Bar at Harrahs, middle of the strip, from
6-9pm every night.
October 21 2007:
The weekly karaoke contest at Million Dollar Elm Casino in Sand Springs is
no more - as of right
now, there is no karaoke night at all at the Casino. Stay tuned for
updates.
Connie Keck's awesome "Rockn The Kasbaw" has
picked up the karaoke host duties at Santino's,
SoCo's, and the Rockin' M - see the karaoke schedule for details!
Goldmine no longer has karaoke, and neither does Kenosha
Station in Broken Arrow.
The Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa had added
karaoke on Monday and Tuesday nights.
The National Karaoke TalentQuest contest was held last
month in Laughlin Nevada - sadly, none
of our local competitors made it through to the final five in their
respective categories, but
we're very proud of all our local talent - they all put on great
performances for a national
audience!
In website news, we've created a 'reviews' area where we
will give reviews of the great (and
not-so-great) karaoke nights we've attended. If you'd like your comments
and reviews included,
feel free to send us a short detailed review
and we'll post them
as well!
July 22 2007:
Mr. Lucky's in Tulsa was the location for the Regional competition for the
annual TalentQuest
karaoke contest. The winners were:
Pop Male: Kenneth McDaniel
Country Male: Curt Angel
Pop Female: Rosita Byas
Country Female:
The winners won travel and hotel and entry to the
National competition being held in Laughlin,
Nevada during the week of September 24, 2007. Congratulations to all!
July 1 2007:
We understand that the monthly karaoke contest at the Million Dollar Elm
Casino in
Sand Springs has turned back into a WEEKLY contest again, and now takes
place ONLY
on THURSDAY nights, instead of two nights a week. Previously the contest
had qualifiers
on Wednesday and Monday nights, with the finals on the last Wednesday of
the month.
With the change in format, the prize money has also
changed - $100 in cash prizes will
now be up for grabs each week (reportedly), with the top male and female
each getting
$50, second place gets $30, and third pays $20.
WELCOME!

we've listed is incorrect, we need to know that as well. The KaraokeTulsa
staff does get around
and visit most of the shows on our list, but we can't be everywhere.
See the CONTACT
page, or we can always be reached at KaraokeTulsa@gmail.com!
Thanks,
